The Sit Means Sit training method and philosophy are backed by science and proven by time. The beauty of our team is that we’re able to not only read dogs, but also communicate with people effectively.
Training is a team effort. When you leave our grounds, we are confident that you will be equipped with the right tools and knowledge to foster a lifetime of success. The freedom and joy you and your dog will be able to experience together after training is why we do what we do. We hold the belief that every dog, no matter their age, breed, size, or history, can live life to the fullest, and we’re here to help you achieve your goals.
Our franchise owner, Lisa Pierce, is an experienced and passionate dog trainer. Her journey to becoming a trainer started with her mom’s dog Molly in 2011. Molly was adopted at about 10 months old and was out of control. After months of shenanigans, getting out of the fence and general lack of response to anything, her mom asked the shelter for a recommendation for training. They recommended Sit Means Sit. Molly did a 2-week Board and Train program. The difference was striking enough to turn Lisa’s head. Molly went from being out of control, never staying in her yard, and being impossible to walk, to being responsive, attentive, and happier than ever. Lisa wanted to know how it had happened and discovered the option of owning a Sit Means Sit franchise, and the rest is history.
With her experience in the general training field, as well as specifics such as Search and Rescue, Lisa transformed Pittsburgh’s dog training space. The business is held to a high standard of professionalism and accountability, promoting trust and long-lasting results. The relationships that we help you forge with your dog and the friendships that grow between trainer and pet parent are invaluable to us and to the community.
